The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences announced its 16th annual Webby Award winners this week, honoring “the best of the web” among internet sites, interactive advertising & media, online film & video and mobile & apps.
Condé Nast’s Wired took the Webby Award for best magazine site, while National Geographic won the People’s Voice award in that same category.
Webby awards are determined by Academy members, including celebrities, business leaders, and Web experts such as Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Instagram founder Kevin Systrom. People’s Voice winners are selected—among Academy nominees—through public online voting.
Others up for best magazine site were The New Yorker, The Atlantic and Vanity Fair.
Beyond their designated category, magazines were heavily represented across many of the almost 70 total categories. Magazine winners, by category, include:

Last year’s Webby Awards drew almost 10,000 entries and generated nearly 2 billion media impressions worldwide, according to the awards’ website.
