Star Tribune Launches Quarterly Print Magazine
The Minneapolis magazine can be found as both a newspaper insert and on newsstands.
Star Tribune, the independent Minneapolis, Minn. newspaper, is launching a quarterly magazine. The first issue was delivered to 225,000 newspaper subscribers on April 16 as part of their regular subscription. The magazine will also retail on newsstands for $4.99 per issue.
Star Tribune Magazine features all original content with an emphasis on long-form and lifestyle journalism. The debut cover story looks at the legacy of the popstar Prince, who was born in Minneapolis and died in Chanhassen, Minn. a year before the issue came out.
Sue Campbell, assistant managing editor for features at the newspaper, is editor-in-chief of the magazine. She is joined by two new staffers, as well as several recent hires on the features team.
“With original content, a distinctive format, glossy production, and a feature-centric editorial direction, Star Tribune Magazine offers readers a more leisurely reading experience that complements the rhythm of a daily newspaper,” Mike Klingensmith, publisher and CEO, said in a release.
