Quad/Graphics Announces Expansions to Wisconsin Facilities
Plans to better facilitate printer’s direct mail and distribution services.
To better accommodate its growing direct mail operations, Quad/Graphics plans to expand its 1 million-square-foot West Allis plant by 192,000 square feet. The facility houses custom Web, sheetfed and digital presses and a number of finishing equipment items such as saddle stitchers, perfect binders and inserters.
Construction is slated to begin in April and is expected to be complete by March 2009.
Quad/Graphics plans also to construct a 388,800-square-foot distribution center in the town of Menomonee Falls to facilitate the company’s cross docking freight produced at its five Wisconsin plants.
Earlier this year Quad/Graphics announced plans to become the first major
commercial printer to have all of its major manufacturing sites designated as
green buildings, and registered its 10 core U.S. printing plants for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
