Joe Zee, founder and editor-in-chief of shuttered men’s title, Vitals, has been hired at ELLE as creative director, a newly created position. Zee will begin January 29 and will be responsible for the visual aspects of the magazine.
ALM has made four senior corporate executive staff changes. Allison Hoffman has been promoted from corporate vice president and general counsel to senior vice president. Glenn Filippone has been promoted to corporate vice president of production. He was formerly vice president of manufacturing for ALM’s national real estate publications. Former director of finance and controller Robert Kondracki has been named vice president of finance for the company, while John Mason, publisher of ALM’s Pennsylvania Newspaper Group, has been named corporate vice president of operations, a newly created position.
Men’s Health has made two promotions. Joyce Parente is the magazine’s new associate publisher of marketing and Ronan Gardiner has been named associate publisher of advertising. Parente was formerly director of marketing and creative services, while Gardiner most recently served as advertising director for the Rodale title.
Shereen Abuzobaa has been named group marketing director of VNU Business Media’s travel, performance and marketing services. She was previously the senior marketing director at a telecommunication services company called Comverse Technology.
Radar, which is set to relaunch in mid-February, has named Michael Small general manager of Radar Online. Small was most recently the editor-in-chief of RollingStone.com and spent nine years at Entertainment Weekly Online.
