Penton Media Inc. has acquired NPICenter, a global online information resource for professionals in the nutritional, dietary supplement, cosmetic and food industries. NPIcenter will be integrated into Penton’s New Hope Natural Media, a media and integrated marketing solutions provider to the natural products industry.
NPIcenter’s flagship product, NPIcenter.com draws more than 400,000 visits from natural supply executives per month. The site provides news organized by market segments and professional functions; a database of products, services, and vendors; a community forum; and executive interviews and editorial content contributed by industry journalists and experts.
Meanwhile, Penton’s bid to find a new buyer is progressing with second-round bids due today. Industry buzz is that several publishers, including Wasserstein’s Prism Business Media and Apprise Media, are in the running to purchase the company.
