Northstar Travel Media Expands into Asia With Acquisition
Purchases Travel Weekly brands from Singapore-based Contineo Media.
Northstar Travel Media, a b-to-b media company serving the executive travel and meetings markets, has acquired several print and event brands from Singapore-based Contineo Media.
Included in the deal are Travel Weekly Asia, Travel Weekly China and Events China. Travel Weekly China has a circulation of 12,000 while its newsletter, along with Travel Weekly Asia, are delivered to 42,000 subscribers.
The Events China brand includes print, e-book and event assets.
Contineo Media also has brands in the pharma, television and entertainment and manufacturing verticals.
The deal was on the small side, under $5 million, but it’s NTM‘s first international expansion. The company has set up a new entity called Northstar Travel Media Singapore Pte Ltd to house the assets.
The deal also reunites the North American and Asian Travel Weekly brands, which were all part of Reed Business Information before NTM was bought by BV Investment Partners in 2001.
Contineo Media was established in 2010 following a Reed management team buyout.
