New Magazine to Launch for ‘Tweens’ (posted 4/4)
DIC Entertainment, Geffen Records and Poets Road have launched a new brand for “tweens” called Kewl. The Kewl brand will include a free, quarterly magazine to be distributed nationwide in retail outlets such as Claire’s, FYE, Sam Goody, Skechers, Suncoast and Toys ﾑR Us.
The 500,000 circulation magazine, also titled Kewl, will focus on celebrity and music. The magazine will be used as a launchpad for a television show, Everything Kewl, and an interactive Web site kewlmag.com. The magazine’s advertisers will include Bonne Bell, Skechers and Proactiv, and its promotional partners will include ABC, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.
