National Publishers Services, a Connecticut-based provider of newsstand sales consulting and marketing solutions, announced this week that it is consolidating its three business units — NPS, Circulation Specialists, and Evergreen Marketing — under a unified operation doing business as NPS Media Group.
Formerly operating as separate units, NPS, which manages newsstand and single-copy sales; Circulation Specialists (CSI), which provides support for subscription marketing and audience development; and Evergreen Marketing, which specializes in list management and brokerage services, will be organized under CSI president Greg Wolfe, who will take on the new title of president and COO of NPS Media Group.
Wolfe joined Circulation Specialists as its third employee in 1988, 23 years before it was acquired by NPS through a joint venture with Henry Fry of publication printer Fry Communications, in 2011. CSI acquired Evergreen Marketing a little under two years later.
What this means for NPS clients, according to CEO and co-founder Mark Harris, is a more seamless, one-stop solution for retail/newsstand sales, circulation and subscription marketing and management, and list services.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead NPS and its clients into the next phase of our business,” said Wolfe in a statement. “With the breadth of our resources, I have every confidence that we are well positioned to assist publishers in navigating the ever challenging world of publishing.”
Rounding out the executive team at the newly consolidated company are Ron Murray, VP of retail services; Jim Chiavelli, GM of list solutions (formerly president of Evergreen Marketing); Jared Katzman, director of business development (formerly director of biz dev at CSI); CFO Bob McIlwain, who co-founded the company; and longtime NPS corporate counsel David Goodman.
