WINNER: Meredith | Family Circle
Good design is backed by even better teamwork, research, and content. Anton Ioukhnovets, an awarding-winning designer and art director, teamed with Family Circle to create an updated and research-driven aesthetic that would appeal to current readers as well as leading millennials—the new readers. By listening to what current and prospective readers wanted in their re-imagined Family Circle, the team developed a clear vision: Give readers fresh content and equally current visuals.
Family Circle successfully launched its bold and beautiful 2016 redesign with the largest issue of the year: September. Its art and edit teams worked together tirelessly to maintain consistency throughout the book. To truly capture Anton’s vision for the new-and-improved Family Circle, the team always kept in mind the interests of their readers. The magazine’s redesign is worthy of winning the Magazine Redesign category because the team didn’t just design a beautiful magazine; they responded to research-driven comments from readers and potential new subscribers. Family Circle delivers reliable and strong service-based content that readers find useful and relevant. Family Circle designs its content so that its readers can grab and obtain information quickly and casually in their action-packed lives.
