Meredith Hires Mark Peterson as Newsstand VP
Appointment fills vacancy left when David Algire departed for Source Interlink.
A little over a month since vice president of retail sales David Algire left to become president of Source Interlink Distribution, Meredith has hired Mark Peterson as its new vice president of newsstand. Peterson comes to Meredith from DJG Marketing, an outsourced circulation services provider, where he was executive vice president and managing director.
Peterson will report to Andy Sareyan, president of Meredith consumer brands.
The appointment caps a flurry of position changes with audience developers and consumer marketers over the last year. Heidi Spangler, who left her position as b-to-b publisher Questex’s director of audience development, has resurfaced as director of intelligent audience marketing for ADS Global, a b-to-b circulation and marketing services company.
Eric Rutter, formerly vice president of audience marketing at Reed Business Information, has been named vice president of account management at iPacesetters, which recently merged with fulfillment and database management company ARGI.
Frank Ruiz and Carlos Garcia, both former ProCirc executives, have formed their own outsourced circ firm Prestige Marketing Solutions.
And, circling back to the larger consumer publishers, Brian Wolfe left his position as Time Inc.’s executive vice president of consumer marketing ands sales last June. Monica Ray left Time Inc. in August to become Condé Nast’s executive vice president of consumer marketing, reporting to Bob Sauerberg, who became the company’s president in July.
