Interweave Shuffles Edit Positions, Names Three New Editorial Directors
Edit leaders bounce between crafts publishers’ divisions.
Loveland, Colorado-based crafts publisher Interweave has appointed three directors to oversee editorial across its divisions. Jamie Bogner was promoted to editorial director of the company’s jewelry division, Karin Strom was named editorial director of the yarn group and Marlene Blessing will take on the same role at Interweave’s book division.
Bogner, who previously served as art director of the jewelry group, replaces Blessing as editorial director. Moving forward, Bogner will oversee editorial across the Stringing, Beadwork, Jewelry Artist and Step by Step Wire Jewelry brands, as well as BeadingDail.com, JewelryMakingDaily.com and other multimedia projects.
Strom, who joins Interweave from Soho Publishing’s Yarn Market News where she as editor-in-chief, will manage edit across the Interweave Knits, Knitscene and Interweave Crochet, as well as KnittingDaily.com, CrochetMe.com and other multimedia initiatives. Strom replaces Tricia Waddell, who is transitioning to editor-in-chief of Stitch magazine, which the company says is expanding to quarterly, subscription-based distribution next year.
Before heading editorial at the yarn group, Waddell served as editorial director of Interweave’s book division. That position is being filled by Blessing, who formerly served as editorial director of the jewelry division.
