Amanda Dameron directs all content at Dwell and is the driving force behind the brand bringing to the forefront important issues like resiliency, universal design, aging in place and small spaces, which few others in the industry are discussing in earnest.
She demands creativity from her team and never settles for the obvious angle whether it be a caption or the story at large. It is that drive that keeps Dwell's audience engaged and results in high regard from the most well-respected professionals in the design industry, many of whom often remark that Dwell is the only design publication they read.
Dameron, who joined Dwell in 2008, has covered design and architecture for the last fifteen years, serving as an on-staff editor at Architectural Digest and Western Interiors and Design in Los Angeles. Her work has been published in numerous domestic and international titles, including Condé Nast Traveler, Los Angeles Magazine, Urbis, Vogue Living and Elle Décor UK. As editor-in-chief of Dwell, and now executive vice president of content, she directs content across all the company's platforms, extending from print and digital to live events, ecommerce, research and other ancillary products. She has served on numerous design and architecture juries, including the AIA East Bay, ICFF in New York and the ASME National Magazine Awards.
In addition to her role at Dwell, Dameron was hand-selected by Ellen DeGeneres to serve as a lead judge for every episode of Ellen’s Design Challenge—a furniture design competition series—which debuted on HGTV in 2015.
