IDG Launches New Initiatives to Boost Revenue and Increase Web Traffic
IDG Communications, an international publisher of more than 300 magazines and newspapers, and more than 400 Web sites, has launched two new products designed to grow revenue for the company and draw more traffic to its Web sites, company officials said Wednesday.
In another new intiative, IDG has launched a vertical search mechanism designed to increase traffic by keeping readers on IDG’s network of Web sites for longer periods of time.
Carrigan said the new lead generation initiative allows marketers to purchase prospect lists from IDG’s network of more than 100 million readers, many of whom are technology buyers. "We’ve got a pretty sophisticated database," he says. "It’s a marketing solution … that allows us to identify, for companies, active users of their products."
In addition to identifying prospects, IDG also will distribute marketers’ white paper and solicit participants for Web-based and live events.
For a fee that can range anywhere from $60 to $100 a name, markets can purchase what IDG’s Corporate Communications Direct Howard Sholkin calls highly qualified leads. "They’re getting these leads very quickly and in a form they can use," Carrigan says, adding that feedback on the initiative has been positive.
IDG currently has the vertical search implemented on two of its sites and plans to implement it network-wide within the next two months.
