Birmingham-based Grand View Media today announced that it has acquired NTP Media, a Latham, New York publisher. The acquisition of NTP’s four monthly titles will bring Grandview’s b-to-b publishing platform to seven titles, which include Processing, Flow, Control and Archery Business. Grandview also publishes six consumer magazines in the outdoor enthusiast market and seven custom publications.
NTP has three publishing groups, all of which were acquired by Grandview. They include: the CM B2B Trade Group, which serves audiences in the building and facility maintenance and management market; the Professional Car Care B2B Trade Group, consisting of Professional Car Washing & Detailing magazine, Professional Car Care e-News and Professional Car Care Online; and the WaterTech B2B Trade Group, consisting of Water Technology magazine, WaterTech Online and WaterTech e-News Daily.
NTP Media was one of the first business publishers to create successful Iinternet-based information products targeting its print audience, Grandview and NTP said in a press release. It was founded 25 years ago by Susan and Humphrey Tyler and launched its first industry-focused Web site in 1995 and its first e-newsletter in 1998.
The Tylers plan to retire. "We knew this day would eventually come, but we wanted to be very choosy about the company that acquired NTP," the couple said in a statement. "Our key criteria were that the buyer have the resources and publishing experience to take our three publishing platforms to the next level and that our current operations and staff be able to remain in our Latham offices." Grand View is a subsidiary of EBSCO Industries Inc.
