Digital Now 28 Percent of Ad Agencies
Survey: Digital work accounted for $8.5 billion in 2010.
Just in case it wasn’t clear to anyone in the media world how quickly ad and marketing money is moving to new platforms, 28 percent of revenues to U.S. agencies in 2010 were for digital programs, according to the Ad Age Agency Report. The survey of more than 900 agencies estimates that of the $30.4 billion the segment took in last year, digital accounted for $8.5 billion.
When broken down within the large holding company structures that govern most agencies today, about 60 percent of that digital cash flow was going to the digital-specific agencies within holding companies such as Publicis, Omnicom and WPP.
