As publisher of Entertainment Weekly since May 2015, Ellie Duque is an innovative and forward thinking advertising executive whose vast experience has helped expand revenue and multi-platform programs for one of America’s leading consumer publications in the entertainment category with more than 27 million loyal, engaged fans.
As an 18-year veteran of Time Inc., Duque is the first EW publisher to be based in Los Angeles, further cementing the brand’s relationships with key entertainment partners and elevating EW’s overall presence in the Hollywood community.
Duque oversees advertising sales, marketing, business development, promotion, and circulation on all platforms for the brand's weekly magazine and digital offerings. With a stellar reputation in the media industry, Duque brings solid relationships, keen instincts and business acumen, strategic thinking, and passion to her role. Since joining EW, she has worked to enhance the core business of Time Inc. and is an empowering leader.
Under Duque’s leadership, EW’s 2015 Fall TV Preview issue was the magazine’s largest in nine years with record-breaking advertising pages. Advertising revenue for the issue increased by 63% compared to 2014, driven by a 52% increase in ad pages year-over-year and a 33% increase for EW.com’s Fall TV digital site special.
Continuing the mission of One Time Inc., in early 2016, Duque worked with EW Editor Henry Goldblatt to launch a multi-media campaign and editorial franchise, “Beyond Beautiful,” which celebrates the accomplishments of four of Hollywood’s most revered actresses: Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, and Elizabeth Banks. Duque landed new business for EW with Walgreen’s Beauty and the campaign will be amplified over the coming months across multiple Time Inc. brands, including People, People En Español and Essence.
