He was the 15th editor of The Economist and had the longest tenure since Geoffrey Crowther, who held the position from 1938-1956.

IDG has quietly asked American Business Media that the recently-shuttered CMO be removed from the Neal Awards competition, FOLIO: has learned. The magazine had been nominated for a pair of Neal Awards;"Best Single Theme or Special Issue of a Magazine or Newspaper/Tabloid" and "Best Single Issue" up to $3,000,000 in advertising/circulation revenue.

Award-Winning CXO Editor to Step Aside

Lew McCreary, the award-winning editorial director of CXO Media, is leaving the company March 3, FOLIO: has learned. McCreary declined to comment, as did IDG, CXO's parent company. But a source close to CXO said McCreary is set to leave after a 18-year-run with the company.

Ex-F+W CEO’s New Venture Buys Sky

New Track Media, the company media founded late last year by ex-F+W CEO Stephen Kent through a partnership with Boston Ventures, has completed its first acquisition, buying Sky Publishing, the companies announced on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
