Brightcove and Rodale Partner to Launch Internet Video Channels
Health magazine publisher Rodale is launching Internet channels for its publications, featuring original health and wellness video programming. “Video gives our editors a way to connect more directly with consumers, inspiring users to join the journey towards a more complete, healthier life,” said Ken Citron, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Rodale, in a statement.
Men’s Health’s Web site will be the first Rodale property to launch a video channel, which will feature fitness content – including instructional videos of Men’s Health workouts; the magazine’s The Girl Next Door column; and celebrity interviews.
Rodale is one of several publishers that have opted to launch video channels via Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Brightcove. The technology company is also partnering on Internet video ventures with Time Inc., Hachette-Filipacchi, Hearst and TV Guide.
Rodale plans to roll-out the service on some of its other publications’ Web sites, which include Prevention.com, RunnersWorld.com, and WomensHealth.com, later in the year.
