Bloomberg announced today that it will launch the Bloomberg Media Group, a media group that pulls together all of Bloomberg’s consumer properties.
Within the new structure, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Markets magazine, Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, Bloomberg.com and Bloomberg Mobile will be on one platform, allowing “integrated solutions for advertisers,” as well as easier access for readers.
President of Bloomberg Businessweek Paul Bascobert has been named head of business operations for the new Bloomberg Media Group. He will remain president of Businessweek, and will report to Bloomberg Media Group CEO Andy Lack.
Currently, Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com reach more than 20 million users a month. Bloomberg Mobile’s app has been downloaded more than 6 million times on iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Nokia platforms.
Other companies have already formed platforms that encompass all of their properties in order to create one unified site, including Forbes Media Extension and last week’s launch of New York Media’s Vulture Network.
