The company’s Public Sector Media Group will stage the inaugural ACQUIRE event June 2016 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The target audience is the full strata of government personnel who have some degree of program responsibility, and the event will include exhibit hall vendors, education and training clinics and expert presentations, says Carmel McDonagh, the group’s chief marketing officer.
“The mission is to help government agencies create, manage and run successful programs,” she says. “The show is unique in that it will bring together stakeholders across the entire program lifecycle, from setting policy all the way to managing the end-user experience.”
McDonagh says the event was inspired by the recognition that budget cutbacks have dented federal agencies’ personnel acquisition and training efforts. ACQUIRE, she says, is designed to help fill that gap and advance efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of programs.
The company is projecting that the event will draw 7,000 registered attendees and 300 exhibitors. Some 100 training sessions are being planned across seven educational tracks. A pavilion focusing on helping federal workers achieve work-life balance is also on tap.
The new event complements the group’s other brands, which include FCW, GCN, Defense Systems, Washington Technology and Federal Soup. “ACQUIRE will be built upon the reputations of our brands,” McDonagh says.
ACQURE’s unveiling comes a year after the group’s decision to end the 37-year run of FOSE, a government IT show, with the 2014 event.
