WSJ Social App Launches on Facebook

Jumping ahead of the expected Thursday announcements of new media integrations at Facebook, WSJ beta launched its WSJ Social app for the social network this week. The new app can be added to any FB user’s account and it includes articles and blogs from the Dow Jones site. Users can filter the tile interface to show only articles selected by specific editors. They can also share pieces with others in their social network, allowing the articles to surface more visibly in the friend’s WSJ Social experience. The model allows readers to serve as editors and help determine the pieces that are most prominent in the social network. there is also a leaderboard for which readers are the most influential.
