Trade Publishers Support ‘Attack’ on California Fax Law

In a widely-anticipated
move, American Business Media
, the association of b-to-b publishers, and a large coalition of trade associations announced their support of a suit filed on Monday in an effort to stop a California law that would undercut a recent federal law;allowing faxes when there's an established business relationship;for faxes sent to or from California.
, introduced by California State Senator Debra Bowen in February, was passed by the California legislature in September. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the bill into law on October 8. The new law takes effect January 1.
