Time Inc. has named Leslie Dukker Doty executive vice president, consumer marketing and revenue, effective immediately. In her new position Doty will report to chairman and CEO Joe Ripp and be a member of the brand’s Executive Leadership Team.
“Leslie’s expertise in direct marketing optimization as well as her ability to leverage consumer data andanalytics to effectively market and grow new customer acquisition and retention will be strong assets for Time Inc.,” said Ripp in a statement.
Doty joins the company from Trusted Media Brands, where she served as chief marketing officer andreengineered their consumer marketing operations. She brings a strong background in management experience, as an executive who drove consumer marketing transformations at companies such as MasterCard, CVS, and Citibank.
“I am thrilled to be joining Time Inc. to support the transformation of the business. With such strong brands, passionate audiences and new data, analytics, and digital capabilities, Time Inc. is well positioned to drive revenue growth through engaging new consumers and expanding our relationships with our current customers,” Doty added in a statement.

Time Inc. also announced a series of promotions, including Susanna Schrobsdorff from assistant managing editor to chief strategic partnerships editor, Dan Stewart from deputy continuous news editor to Europe editor, Charlie Campbell from associate editor in the company’s Hong Kong bureau to Beijing correspondent, and Joyce Lee from freelancer for the breaking news team to associate producer. Julie Shapiro, previously a news editor for Time.com, succeeds Stewart.
On top of that, Time Inc. has hired Nate Hopper as an opinions editor for Time Ideas, Chris Grasinger as a video producer responsible for breaking news, Spencer Bakalar as video producer/editor, Brittany Robins as associate editor, audience engagement, and Cady Lang and Raisa Bruner as newsfeed writers.
Lauren Caruso has joined Stylecaster as the beauty director. She will report to editor-in-chief Jessica Teves, and will focus on refining and expanding the brand’s beauty presence. Most recently, Caruso served as senior digital editor at Allure.
Condé Nast Entertainment has appointed Lauren Lumsden to the newly created role of digital director of its video platform The Scene. Lumsden joins the brand from Cosmopolitan, where she was video programing director for Cosmopolitan.com.
The National Enquirer has named Dick Morris chief political commentator and contributor. In this role, Morris will provide exclusive news and analysis for the magazine’s weekly print edition, as well as regular columns and video commentary for NationalEnquirer.com.
Erin Strecker, Ryan Sedmak, Keith Wagstaff, Derrick Deblasi, and Mike Williams have all joined Mashable. Strecker joins as deputy entertainment editor from Billboard, where she served as associate editor for Billboard.com. Sedmak joins from NowThis as a real-time producer. Meanwhile, Wagstaff has been named associate editor, and Deblasi and Williams join Mashable Studios as associate producer and creative director for the branded content team, respectively.
The American Prospect announced that Amy Lynn Marshall Lambrecht will rejoin the brand as its publisher. Lambrecht left the publication in 2002, at which time she served as vice president of development. She rejoins from Scholars Strategy Network, where she was director of development.
Mic announced that Sharmi Gandhi will join the company as SVP of business development. She joins the company from Vevo, where she served in the same role.
John Ortved and Paul Robertson have been named senior associate editor and associate publisher of marketing at GQ, respectively.
Genius has added Lauren Nostro, Ken Partridge, and Billy Disney to their team. Nostro previously served as managing editor of Complex Music and joins as a music news editor. Meanwhile, Partridge joins as an editor, having most recently been a music writer and contributor to Billboard, The AV Club, and more. Disney joins as head of video from Mic and The Verge, where he served as lead director of video.
Bloomberg Pursuits has announced Nikki Ekstein will assume the position of travel editor. Ekstein joins the company from Travel + Leisure, where she served as travel news editor.
Nomi Ernst Leidner has been promoted from executive producer of Viceland to senior VP, development, at Vice.
Southern Living has named Jennifer Staiman vice president of marketing and Tricia Solimeno director of integrated marketing. Both join the brand from Time Inc., where they each served as vice president of integrated marketing. Meanwhile, Claire Rock has been promoted from associate marketing director to marketing director.
