The 2017 Folio: Show Begins
Three days of keynotes, breakout sessions, networking events, and award receptions make up the industry's most comprehensive and wide-ranging annual conference.
NEW YORK — The most comprehensive industry conference serving the full breadth of the magazine-media space, the 2017 Folio: Show officially kicks off Monday at the Hilton Midtown in New York.
Featuring over 100 industry speakers across more than 50 breakout sessions, the program features something for every specialty: from content creation, to marketing and sales, to events, to advertising and production.
Four hours of breakout sessions, alongside the concurrent C-Summit — an invite-only forum for media company executives — comprise much of Monday’s programming, which concludes with the Folio: 100 Awards reception, celebrating the 100 professionals who had the largest impact on their brands, companies, and the industry at large over the past year.
Tuesday’s schedule features a full day of programming across all five breakout tracks, kicked off by “State of Siege: Examining the Craft and Business of Journalism in 2017,” a powerhouse keynote panel featuring The New York Times‘ Jim Rutenberg, The New Republic‘s J.J. Gould, Vanity Fair‘s Gabriel Sherman, and The Atlantic‘s Matt Thompson.
Tuesday afternoon will see the 30 Under 30 awards luncheon, recognizing 30 up-and-coming stars in the industry, as well as a “Mindfulness in the Workplace” table talk from the experts at Yoga Journal. The conference concludes Wednesday afternoon, following another morning of high-impact keynotes and breakout sessions, table talks, and the annual Eddie & Ozzie Awards luncheon, honoring the most elite editorial and design work in the magazine industry over the past year.
