While originally scheduled as a traditional clambake on the beach, the event was reinvented as a 'barnbake' at Nova's Art Project in Water Mill, NY, where more than 100 guests attended. From July 5 to July 11, the Aspen Institute and The Atlantic held their sixth annual celebration of ideas with the 2010 Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado. Guided by discussions and presentations from more than 300 leaders in the fields of arts, science, culture, technology, religion, philosophy, business, economics, and politics, an audience of nearly 2,000 was engaged in deep and inquisitive public discourse on the most important and exciting ideas and issues facing the world today. |

2010 Essence Music Festival |

The Essence Music Festival is the largest annual gathering of African-American music and culture and featured headliner performances by Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige at the Louisiana Superdome. This year’s annual three-day event—held over the Fourth of July weekend in New Orleans—also celebrated Essence magazine’s 40th anniversary. Other attendees included Jada Pinkett Smith, Bill Cosby, Steve Harvey and Bishop T.D. Jakes. The presenting sponsor was Coca-Cola. |

Food & Wine hosted its 28th annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen June 18 to 20 at an elevation of 9,000 feet. For three days, the stellar line-up of culinary masters and wine connoisseurs shared trade secrets and techniques with 5,000 foodies and oenophiles at over 80 cooking and wine seminars. |

The inauguaral event, sponsored by Asics and Colgate, paid homage to four of Hollywood’s most socially active and philanthropic women including Academy Award winning actress Marcia Gay Harden (Help USA), actress Joely Fisher (Save the Children), Twilight franchise screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (Writers Guild Foundation) and Lisa Paulsen, president/CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) (Stand Up 2 Cancer).
