Michael Clinton Book Party

Hearst Magazines president of marketing and publishing director Michael Clinton was feted at the new Ralph Lauren men’s store in New York City for the release of his fourth photography book, AMERICAN PORTRAITS (Glitterati), which features portraits of 89 American citizens whose ethnic backgrounds represent 100 countries. Notables from the publishing, fashion and photography world showed up to get their books signed, including Men’s Health VP/EIC David Zinczenko, Readers Digest CEO Mary Berner, Conde Nast CEO Chuck Townsend, and more.


O, The Oprah Magazine's 'Power List' Panel Discussions

O, The Oprah Magazine celebrated the October issue’s Power List with a series of panel discussion at the Hearst Tower on Thursday, September 16. The event, entitled Own Your Power, was sponsored by Chico’s, Wells Fargo and Clinique.


Women's Health's Are You Game? Festival

Women’s Health recently hosted its annual festival, Are You Game?, which was held on Pier 46 in Manhattan’s Hudson River Park. Now in its fourth year, the event allows women to experience the ultimate in outdoor fun, offering a variety of activities including fitness classes, one-on-one golf instruction, virtual kayaking, nutrition counseling, healthy cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, makeovers, massages, happy hour, a mechanical bull and more. More than 1,500 women attended the event and 50 percent of the $10 fee went to the FEED Foundation, the event beneficiary.


Miller-McCune LIVE

On September 16, Miller-McCune magazine kicked off Miller-McCune LIVE, an inaugural debate that tackled lobbying and the political process, stemming from an article in the September/October 2010 issue. Moderated by editor-in-chief John Mecklin, the free debate was held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Essence magazine hosted the Fierce & Fabulous Awards luncheon honoring extraordinary women as featured in its commemorative 40th Anniversary September issue. The Fierce & Fabulous Awards luncheon was an invitation-only, red carpet event held Monday, September 13, at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City.


J-14's 'In-Tune' Concert

J-14 magazine held its fourth “up close and personal” In-Tune concert at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square. More than 100 readers won the chance to experience an evening of entertainment and fun with a private concert featuring their favorite artists—Cody Simpson, Vita Chambers and Comic Book Heroes.


National Geographic, Aspen Institute Host Environmental Forum

From July 25 to 28, on the Aspen Institute's campus in Aspen, Colorado, more than 400 high-level speakers from a wide range of perspectives—business, government, academia, and non-governmental organizations—explored how to work together to develop bridges to long-term, equitable sustainability across a variety of interconnected issues, including energy, environmental conservation, and climate change adaptation/management. Speakers included EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, UN's Mohan Munasinghe, and actor Kevin Costner. Chevrolet, Duke Energy, and Shell were among the sponsors.


Travel + Leisure Honors 2010 World’s Best Awards Winners

Travel + Leisure Editor-in-Chief Nancy Novogrod and VP/Publisher J.P. Kyrillos presented World's Best Awards to top winners in a range of categories, including best cities, islands, resorts, cruise lines, airlines, and more, at a luncheon emceed by Al Roker of NBC’s Today at Trump SoHo New York on Wednesday, July 21.
