Men’s Health Urbanathlon Chicago

Men’s Health hosted its annual signature event in Chicago on October 16 with Mario Lopez as celebrity host and more than 7,700 participants. The event, now in its fourth year in Chicago, is a one-of-a-kind, nine-mile competition that combines traditional road race elements with rigorous obstacles and sets them against a backdrop of iconic city landmarks.


Esquire's 'Ultimate Bachelor Pad' Grand Opening in LA

The eighth iteration of Esquire magazine's Signature Space program—the transformation of a remarkable physical space into the “epitome” of 21st century living—takes up residence in Los Angeles at this year's Esquire House. Located in the Doheny Estates in the Hollywood Hills, this 9,000-square-foot home has been rebuilt from the ground up and newly outfitted by top designers to create a dynamic living environment. The house includes a $500,000 music studio complete with state-of-the-art recording equipment (outfitted by Blue Microphones), a one-of-a-kind $200,000 flight simulator created by Luxurious Animals that responds to body movements, and an interactive 65-inch Multi-Touch Video Wall from Obscura Digital featuring Hard Rock memorabilia. The grand opening took place on Friday, October 15.


Rodale's 'My Country' Book Launch Party

On October 18, publisher Rodale Inc. celebrated the unveiling of its new book, “My Country: 50 Musicians on God, America, and the Songs They Love" by Melanie Dunea. The event was held at Hill Country in New York City.


Magazine Innovation Center's 'Reimagining the Future' Conference

Organized by Samir “Mr. Magazine” Husni, founder and director of the Magazine Innovation Center, the first-ever “Reimagining the Future” conference was held in October at the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi. The Knot Industry Gala

For the first time ever, The Knot, a leading lifestage media company, hosted an industry gala October 18 at the New York Public Library, capping off Bridal Fashion Week. It was an evening that brought together over 700 attendees, including the who’s who in the wedding world, to celebrate not only Bridal Fashion Week, but also the 15 years of The Knot.

Food Network Magazine Cocktail Party

Food Network Magazine editor-in-chief Maile Carpenter and publisher Vicki Wellington hosted a cocktail party featuring Food Network stars, Food Network Magazine editors and a menu straight from the pages of the magazine October 6 at the Food Network Lounge in NYC. Among the attendees were Food Network Chefs Sunny Anderson (host of Cooking For Real); Aarti Sequeira (The Next Food Network Star winner and host of Aarti Party); Marcela Valladolid (host of Mexican Made Easy) and Candace Nelson (founder of Sprinkles and judge, Cupcake Wars).


OK! Magazine’s 5th Anniversary New York Party

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the U.S. edition, OK! magazine kicked off its “Five for Five” events program—toasting the celebrities and industry influencers that are frequently featured in the magazine. The first event kicked off in Hollywood on September 1. Other locations include New York [pictured here], Chicago, Las Vegas and Miami.
