Regional Mag 5280 Acquires Denver Magazine
5280 will retain “intellectual assets” while Denver folds.
Denver, Colorado-based regional magazine 5280 has acquired the intellectual property of its main competitor, Denver Magazine, including Federal trademark of the brand name, Internet domains and Denver‘s Twitter account and Facebook pages.
Meanwhile, Denver Magazine, which launched in February 2008, will fold. 5280 (which refers to the city of Denver’s elevation of 5,280 feet above sea level) will not be assuming any of Denver‘s liabilities or obligations.
5280 is a finalist in multiple categories for the 2011 City & Regional Magazine Association awards, including reporting, feature story, photography, excellence in writing, cover, designer of the year, excellence in design, civic journalism (twice)and "General Excellence II."
