Inc. magazine’s Web site, Inc.com has launched a spin-off site targeting entrepreneurs interested in technology. Mansueto Ventures’ IncTechnology.com debuts with Dell as its launch sponsor and will feature articles, product reviews, case studies and a white paper directory for entrepreneurs and their businesses. Topics include hardware, Internet and e-business, technology management, networking, software, security and telecom and wireless technology.
Prism Uses Text Messaging to Market to Trade Show Attendees
Prism Business Media’s PROMO Live, a marketing conference presented by PROMO magazine, has teamed up with OTAir, a marketing and media firm specializing in text message marketing, to help promote its upcoming October show. A variety of text services are available to conference attendees, exhibitors and speakers. Participants will be able to connect with exhibitors, speakers and members of discussion panels, as well as enter trivia contests and receive session alerts directly on their cell phones via text messages.
In addition, OTAir will also provide a number of traditional marketing services, including e-mail, Web commercials, newsletters, direct mail and podcasts. Another feature includes a keyword service that sends information on the conference to anyone who text messages the word "PROMO" to 68247.
Convera Creates Customized Publishing Search Engine for UBM
Search technology provider, Convera Corporation has joined forces with United Business Media, the parent company to U.S.-based CMP Technology, to create a customized search engine programmed to understand the professional vocabulary of UK doctors.
UBM will use the service to aggregate Web content and enable search functionality for its CMPMedica Web portal for medical research and will offer advertisers a targeted professional audience that may be solely relying on search engines like Google to obtain information.
The new search engine titled, SearchMedica is already in beta and will assist UBM as it shifts its content online. This program is part of Convera’s larger TrueKnowledge Platform scheme to meet the search needs of professionals worldwide, providing information from both within their companies and through the resources found on the Internet.
Digital Payment Supplier Offers New Digital Solutions to Deliver Mobile Content
Javien Digital Payment Solutions Inc., an e-commerce management company, has partnered with mobile solutions company Gold Mobile to create an m-commerce solution for companies looking to integrate e-commerce with the mobile content sales market. The partnership will simplify the steps consumers will have to take to purchase mobile content, by offering different payment options for purchase or subscription.
Consumers can purchase or subscribe through the Web to mobile content and can be authenticated automatically when they log on from wireless devices to view the content or download the purchased article, ringtone, video, etc. A variety of payment options include the use of credit/debit cards, PayPal and FirstGate accounts, ACH, bill to land line and cell phone, as well as SMS and MMS billing.
Homes & Land Vamps Up E-Magazine
Real-estate title, Homes & Land has re-launched its online magazine. Now offered in over 100 markets across North America, the magazine plans to expand its market reach to 300 by spring of 2007. The E-magazine does not require plug-ins and features advertisements offering readers easy access before they receive their print copies in the mail. Potential homebuyers can flip through the pages and can enlarge property photos with a click of their mouse. They can also request additional information from the listing agent via the e-magazine.
