Roscoe Smith Leads Acquisition of Medical Information Business
Backed by media industry veteran, Intellerus buys VerusMed.
Intellerus, a private equity group headed by media industry veteran Roscoe C. Smith III, has acquired VerusMed, the medical information division of ConnectivHealth. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Smith—who served as president of database and marketing company Agent Media, which was acquired by Summit Business Media last year—will now serve as chairman and CEO of VerusMed. Other staffing changes include: Jennifer Brubaker was named CFO, Michael Bouldin was named vice president of human resources and John Walker was named director of IT. June Manning will remain as editor-in-chief and Erica Brown will stay on as director of professional strategies.
Smith has had long career in media, having served as publisher of McGraw-Hill’s Architectural Record, president of b-to-b media company Knowledge Industry Publications and president and CEO of PBI Media.
Investment bankers the Jordan, Edmiston Group advised ConnectivHealth in the transaction.
