Horwitz will help oversee newsroom operations and the Variety editorial team of more than 50 staffers in the PMC-owned brand's L.A. and New York offices.

Horwitz joins Variety from Entrepreneur magazine, where she had served as executive editor since 2011. She previously held key editorial roles at Billboard and other magazines. Additionally, she has written and edited several books on design and architecture.

The Hollywood Reporter named Anna Lisa Raya its new senior awards editor, helping run the magazine's Emmy and Oscar awards coverage. She joins THR from Deadline Hollywood's awards season magazine, AwardsLine, where she served as an editor.
Richard Baker has been named creative director of SAVEUR. Baker is an award-winning designer who has overseen the visual content for numerous brands including Parade, Life, Vibe, and The Washington Post Sunday Magazine.
House Beautiful announced that Lulu Powers, renowned celebrity chef and best-selling author of Food to Flowers, will join the brand as food and entertaining columnist starting with the upcoming February issue.
Wes Siler, adventure travel writer, content creator, and founder and editor of Gawker Media’s IndefinitelyWild, joins OUTSIDE as contributing editor. Boasting an impressive journalism career, Siler has written for Wired, Newsweek, GQ, Rolling Stone, Playboy, Popular Mechanics, and Men's Health, among others. Additionally, Siler was Road Test editor at Jalopnik.com
The FADER has announced the addition of Jason Parham, senior editor, and Amos Barshad, senior writer, to its growing editorial team. Blaire Monroe, formerly of MTV, will join the team as its social media editor.
Parham, previously senior editor for Gawker, most notably wrote think pieces for the online publication including coverage on Ferguson and the Fight for Recognition, and the success of Outkast and the band’s influence on Atlanta’s recognition in hip-hop. Prior to Gawker, Parham was associate editor for Complex.
Barshad comes to The FADER after serving as staff writer for nearly four years at the longform sports and entertainment journalism site Grantland. He has also written for publications including New York Magazine, XXL, GQ, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times Magazine.
Blaire Monroe, who is joining Barshad and Parham in this round of new hires, was previously social media editor for MTV. She has also written for a series of publications including Complex, Mass Appeal, and Afropunk.
