Primedia has hired George Kang as vice president and general manger of the company’s Automotive Digital Network, which consists of seven Web sites, including motortrend.com, automobilemag.com, automotive.com, and intellichoice.com along with more than 50 other automotive sites. Kang is formerly of Edmunds, where he spent five years in sales and business development projects and also worked at both Nissan and Mercedes Benz.
John Riha has been named editorial director of Meredith Corporation’s Special Interest Media group, which includes 230 issues covering the building and remodeling; decorating and design; gardening and outdoor living; food and entertaining; diet and health; and crafting activities categories.
Minnesota Monthly has promoted Nancy Benedict from associate publisher/ad director to publisher. Benedict will be the magazine’s fifth publisher since its launch in 1967.
James Oseland has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Saveur. He was formerly executive editor and is replacing former editor Colman Andrews, who is leaving the magazine to pursue other projects.
Radar has made two significant hires. Katherine Ruzzuto, former executive beauty director at Vogue, has signed on as publisher. Anne Perton, ad director at House and Garden will become advertising director.
Penwell Corporation has named editor of Electronic Publishing, Keith Hevenor as its CMM International conference director. He will also be working for CMMS’s soon to be redesigned Web site and e-newsletter.
Matt Quandt has been promoted to public relations specialist for Kalmbach Publishing Co. This is a newly created full-time position.
National Geographic has named Declan Moore international publisher of the magazines, Moore will be responsible for all strategic planning, advertising sales and marketing gof the international title.
Inc. magazine promoted Frank Rose, to Northeast advertising manager at the publication. He will be responsible for all sales activities from New England through Northern Virginia.
