Atlantic Media has announced that Justin B. Smith, formerly president of The Week, will join Atlantic as president of consumer media, overseeing all consumer properties including The Atlantic, TheAtlantic.com, and Atlantic Live. Smith will be succeeded by The Week business director Steven Kotok.
Future US’ Pregnancy magazine has named Jim Schiekofer publisher. Schiekofer was most recently executive director of Integrated Sales & Marketing for the company. He was previously group publisher at Reader’s Digest.
MPA has named Jeremy Koch executive vice president of Consumer Marketing, a newly created position. He was most recently president of Time Consumer Marketing.
Jim Harrold has been named editor-in-chief of Woodcraft Magazine. He was most recently executive editor at WOOD magazine.
James D’Adamo has been named group advertising director at Hearst Integrated Media, He was most recently executive style director of O, The Oprah Magazine and its quarterly spin-off, O at Home, and will be responsible for corporate integrated sales in the luxury goods category.
PC Magazine Lance Ulanoff has been promoted to VP Content/Editor in Chief of the PC Magazine Network, including market-leading properties PCMag.com, Extremetech.com, DL.TV and PC Magazine. He is replacing Jim Louderback, who is is leaving the company for a new position.
BusinessWeek has named Ellen Joan Pollock executive editor. She succeeds John Byrne, who was named executive editor/editor-in-chief of BusinessWeek.com in June. Rob Hunter has been named assistant managing editor for features, after serving as a senior editor for finance since November 2005.
John Brooks has returned to BPA Worldwide as director, Marketing Services. Brooks spent 11 years with BPA between 1991 and 2002 starting as a field auditor and advancing to vice president in that time period.
Sam Anderson is New York magazine’s new book critic. Anderson’s work has appeared in the magazine since 2006.
Summit Business Media has named Thomas M. Flynn, CPA, chief financial officer. Flynn had been interim CFO of Summit and CFO and managing director of Shared Services at Highline Media LLC, a Summit Business Media operating unit.
Home improvement expert Leslie Segrete will join Country Home as editor at large.
Symphony Publishing New York has named Caletha Crawford associate publisher of Earnshaw’s. She was most recently editor in chief and will continue in that role.
Helen Cannavale has been named photo director of Prevention. She most recently served as a freelance photo editor for More and Meredith’s custom publishing and integrated marketing divisions.
Entrepreneur Media Inc. has hired of Jeff Chau, formerly of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, as regional sales manager.
Dana Fellows has joined Working Mother Media as eastern advertising director for Working Mother magazine. Previously, Fellows was regional sales manager for Entrepreneur magazine’s East Coast office.
