The Atlantic, Wenner Media, CNN and more…
Wenner Media announced the appointment of David Kang to chief revenue officer for Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal, and Gus Wenner to head of digital, overseeing the websites for Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men’s Journal. Kang joined the company as chief digital officer in 2012, and Wenner has been the director of RollingStone.com since 2013.
TIME has made several staff changes:
- Matthew Drake has joined as coordinating producer, overseeing all video operations. He previously worked as senior producer at NowThis News.
- Martin Gee has been named senior art director after working as senior designer at The Huffington Post.
- Dan Hirschhorn has been promoted to senior editor for news. He had been continuous news editor at the company.
- Jonathan Woods has moved to senior editor of multimedia from his role as senior editor of photo and interactive.
The Atlantic has hired Sophie Gilbert to oversee The Atlantic Weekly. She was previously arts editor at The Washingtonian.
Karen Duddy has joined Portland Monthly Magazine as an advertising account executive, previously working as head of sales at Old Port magazine.
Mark Preston has been promoted to executive editor of CNN Politics. Ha previously served as CNN’s Politics director since 2011. Samantha Barry has also joined CNN as its senior director of social news. She comes to the company from BBC World News, where she was a social media producer.
Billboard has announced the hire of Isabel González Whitaker as deputy editor. She most recently served as features editor at InStyle.
Melissa Ventosa Martin previously style director at Glamour, has joined Self as fashion director.
Cindy Rich has been named senior editor at Bethesda Magazine from her role as senior writer at The Washingtonian.
