Keith Fox has been appointed to the position of president of McGraw-Hill’s BusinessWeek. He was most recently president of McGraw-Hill Professional, a global publisher of printed and digital products and services. He will replace William P. Kupper, Jr., who is retiring after 12 years with the magazine.
Rodale has named Anndrew Hersam vice president/publishing director for Runner’s World, Running Times and their related web properties. Angus Macaulay has been named publisher of Runner’s World and Molly O’Keefe to advertising director for Runner’s World.
Jim Childs, book publisher at The Taunton Press, will resign from his position to join Time Warner’s Southern Progress division.
Prevention has named Cynthia Sass nutrition director, a newly created position. She will oversee all nutrition content for the brand including writing a monthly column, contributing to a blog and video on Prevention.com, as well as book development.
Rachel Fishman has been named director of Parenting.com, a Bonnier Corporation site. She was previously Site director at LadiesHomeJournal.com.
Magazine Publishers of America has promoted Shaunice Hawkins to vice president of Diversity & Multicultural Initiatives. She was most recently director of Diversity Development. Elvira Perez has been promoted to vice president of Education Services. She was formerly director of Professional Development.
Renee Martin has joined the MediZine team as the marketing creative director for the company. She was most recently creative director of marketing services at Better Homes & Gardens.
Brian Kelly has been appointed editor of U.S. News & World Report. Kelly has been the magazine’s executive editor since 2003. He succeeds Brian Duffy, who resigned last month to pursue writing projects, the publication said in a statement.
PC World and Macworld magazines have promoted Michael Carroll to SVP/group publisher of both titles. He was formerly VP/publisher of PC World Online and Macworld Online. Associate publisher Peter Zampitella has been promoted to publisher of Macworld.
Aviation Week has named Iain Blackhall managing director, for Europe, Middle East and Asia, a newly created position. Blackhall will be responsible for growth of the brand’s media portfolio outside of North and South America, including the China and Russia strategic media partnerships.
