Bon Appetit announced several new staff changes. Alex Grossman is now design director, joining the magazine from agency AR New York. Alex Pollack will join the magazine on February 7 from New York. Meanwhile, former Saveur test kitchen director Hunter Lewis is named food editor, Scott DeSimon as special projects editor and Christopher Hirsheimer, Melissa Hamilton, Jenny Rosenstrach and Andy Ward as columnists. Christine Muhlke and Meghan Sutherland were previously named executive editor and deputy editor, respectively. Earlier this month Bon Appetit named a new publisher in Pamela Drucker Mann.
Enthusiast publisher Interweave named Mindy Brooks editor of Beadworks, replacing Melinda Barta, who will continue to work with the magazine in a part-time role. Brooks most recently was senior editor and Internet director for Reader’s Digest Association’s Home & Garden Affinity division.
Ed Baker will lead corporate sales efforts for Bonnier’s newly formed Special Interest Group. Baker will oversee nonendemic sales across the travel, water sports, and marine brands of the unit.
National Journal Group named Maggie Fox as managing editor of technology and health care. She joins National Journal from Thomson Reuters where she worked for 21 years, most recently as health and science editor.
