Ascend Integrated Media and Ascend Media announce several promotions. Kate Hegarty, previously the director of procurement, is now the vice president of procurement, putting her in charge of all print purchasing, venue distribution and the project management team. Rhonda Wickham is now the vice president of content, previously serving as director of content. Scott Harold has been promoted from director of digital media to vice president of digital media.
Lena Singer, previously assistant dining editor, will replace Graham Meyer as assistant editor at Chicago Magazine.
Matt Quinn has left his senior web producer position at Inc. Tiffany Black, senior producer, is assuming his responsibilities for the time being.
Fran Hauser has been named president of digital for Time Inc.’s Style and Entertainment groups. Hauser will also head a new project called Time Inc. Digital Labs.
MJ Lee, formerly of the Politico web team, will join Politico 44 full-time.
The Chronicle of Higher Education has announced Jack Stripling as senior reporter. Previously, Stripling served as reporter for Inside Higher Ed.
Steven Allen is now the editor of the new monthly magazine Tea Party Review.
Ashley Ross has joined Marie Claire as an associate editor. Most recently, Ross was assistant editor with Worth Magazine.
Andrew Goldman, previously contributing editor for Elle Magazine, will write the column “Questions For” at The New York Times Magazine.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has appointed Kathy Kristof as contributing editor. Kristof is a regular contributor to The Los Angeles Times and CBS MoneyWatch, as well as the author of three books.
Kit Rachlis will join The American Prospect magazine as editor. Rachlis is a former editor of Los Angeles Magazine, LA Times, LA Weekly and Village Voice.
