Bloomberg View has hired Eli Lake and Josh Rogin as columnists in national security and international affairs. Both had served as senior correspondents for The Daily Beast and Newsweek.
Quartz promoted Mitra Kalita to executive editor at large. She had previously served as ideas editor for the brand. Paul Smalera was been hired to fill Kalita’s role as ideas editor. He had been founding editor for The New York Times‘ Op-Talk site.
Jeff Bercovici will be San Francisco bureau chief for Inc. He’d been a senior editor for Forbes since 2013.
Jessica Coen has been named a contributing editor for Marie Claire. Coen had previously served as editor-in-chief of Jezebel, and currently writes for the same publication as editor-at-large.
Hearst Magazines International made three executive appointments:
- Emily Jipson was named VP of product. She was previously head of global product management for Yahoo!
- Melinda Lee is now VP of content and audience development. She had been general manager of the music division for Getty Images.
- Bernardo Chévez is VP of technology. He’d been director of engineering at Condé Nast.
Fred Santarpia was appointed EVP and chief digital officer of Condé Nast. Santarpia had been serving in the same role for the Condé Nast Entertainment division previously.
