Kristen Dabbs has joined the staff of American Songwriter magazine as advertising director. She was formerly an account executive at PASTE magazine, where she was a founding staff member.
Dawn David has been named associate publisher of marketing at Teen Vogue. She has been with the magazine since 2005, and was promoted to executive director of creative services in 2006. David is replacing Jane Grenier, who has been named publisher of the new CondeNet Web site for teen girls, Flip.
Women’s Health has named Sandy Drayton executive director of brand communications. Drayton joins Rodale from Time Inc. where she most recently served as VP of communications and television development for Entertainment Weekly.
Dwell has hired Katrina Heron as editor at large. Heron was editor-in chief of Wired from 1998 to 2001. Michael Cannell has been named New York editor. He was editor of the House & Home section of The New York Times for more than six years. Kyle C. Blue has returned to Dwell. Blue was senior designer at the magazine from 2003 to 2005, and recently spent time at Apple, where he was senior designer.
Douglas Toews has been named senior vice president, of marketing communications and branding at Rodale. Toews will be responsible for leading Rodale’s brand positioning work, as well as directing the development of marketing communications across all brands, channels and business units.
