Penton Reports Revenue, EBITDA Increases in Q2, First Half of 2006
Penton Media this week reported revenues of $4.8 million for first of half of the year, an increase of 4.9 percent over the previous year’s revenues. Net income for the first six months of 2006 increased by $5.8 million to $1.8 million, compared to a loss of $4 million in the first six months of 2005. Adjusted EBITDA is also up, increasing 14 percent or $3.1 million to $25.5 million
The company reported increases in online, custom publishing and events revenues for the first half of the year, while print revenue was flat. Online revenue was $11.4 million, an increase of 29 percent. Penton reported that Web traffic was up 18 percent to an average 15.7 million page views per month, while unique visitors increased 27 percent to 3.9 million a month. The company says it launched 166 Webcasts in the first half of the year, an increase of 42 percent. It also launched seven new Web sites.
Event revenues were up 12 percent to $22.4 million. Revenues from the company’s five newly launched events was a combined $1.7 million in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, in the second quarter of this year, the company’s revenues increased 8.7 percent year-over-year to $47.6 million. Second quarter adjusted EBITDA was $8.2 million, an increase of 20.5 percent or $1.4 million.
