OK! Finalizes German Edition Deal
Global celebrity gossip magazine OK! has partnered with a German publishing company to launch a German language edition-the magazine’s 14th international edition in three years.
The new German language edition of OK! will be published in Germany, Austria and the German-speaking regions of Switzerland. The magazine will be published by OK!’s German subsidiary OK! Verlag GmbH, a joint venture between OK!’s publisher Northern & Shell and the Klambt Group, one of Germany’s oldest publishing companies.
"The German celebrity market is showing very strong growth at the moment and having a German edition has long been an ambition of ours," Northern & Shell’s international operations director Christian Toksvig said in a statement.
Established in 1843, the Klambt Group publishes more than 50 German magazines including women’s service weekly Lea. "Klambt has successfully launched a new title, In, in this category in 2006 and has the necessary local know-how to make the OK! launch work," Toksvig said.
The German edition of OK! is slated to debut in the first half of 2008.
