O Tops Adweek’s 2007 Hot List (posted 3/5/07)
O, The Oprah Magazine ranked first on Adweek’s 2007 Hot List, and not only bumped People out of the top spot, but off the list entirely. The fist six entries also made the 2006 Hot List, with Teen Vogue making the most dramatic jump from tenth to fifth.
Women and celebrity titles, which had a lock on the 2006 list, dominated slightly less this year, with Wired and The Economist landing in the eight and 10 spots respectively.
Selections to the list are based on factors including ad page, revenue, and circulation gains;with a minimum of $50 million in ad revenues.
Conde Nast had the most entries, securing four spots with Teen Vogue, Glamour, Allure and Wired.
While O had the highest circulation of the group at almost 2.4 million, it was far from the highest gainer in ad revenue at 15.6 percent. Martha Stewart Living, at a 56.5 percent gain in ad revenues, squeaked onto the List at number 9.
