Magazines announcing digital initiatives—video, content sharing partnerships, integrated marketing, social networking and other buzzy products related to Web 2.0—increased by more than 33 percent in 2007, according to year-end data by the Magazine Publishers of America scheduled to be released later this morning.

Overall, 207 initiatives were announced last year, according to the MPA. There were 155 announced in 2006.

Among those the MPA identified: Bonnier’s social networking platform; first-time partnerships with online communities made by Forbes, Condé Nast and Hearst; Consumer Reports’ Web crash-test videos; BusinessWeek’s widgets; Meredith Corp.’s broadband network; and Martha’s Circle, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s blog network.

The full list of initiatives, including links, can be found here [1].
