Questex Travel Group has tapped the Attivio Active Intelligence Engine to help bring its print publications to the Web and consolidate them into a single content management system. Attivio helps bridge the gap between numeric data and unstructured content such as news articles and blogs and generates facets that enable the reader to narrow their search while at the same time setting the basis for cross-links. Attivio will also enable Questex to build and generate new revenue from targeted pages and micro-sites.

The Attivio Active Intelligence Engine can combine data sources into a single index that includes internal and external content, user-generated content, pictures and video. Boldfacers.com [1], a Web site dedicated to the Boston social scene and an early Attivio client, implemented Attivio’s page linking ability so that when new content is added, it automatically generates cross-links on concepts and entities such as people and places mentioned in related articles.
