Marc Berger has been named publisher of Footwear News, which is part of Condé Nast's Fairchild Fashion Group. Most recently, Berger served as publisher of Men's Vogue, which folded late last year.
Hearst Corp. has announced a pair of staffing changes: Beth Polish was named director of corporate innovation and senior vice president of Hearst Interactive Media and Patrick Brennan, former vice president of Nielsen's building and design media group, was named vice president of business development for the Asia Pacific region for Hearst Magazines International.
Country Living announced a pair of staffing changes: Former Harper's Bazaar contributing features editor Shelly Ridenour was named executive editor and Liz Ozaist, who previously served as senior editor at Budget Travel, was named senior editor.
Eric Hippeau, co-managing partner of Huffington Post investor SoftBank Capital, was appointed CEO of the news site, replacing Betsy Morgan, who is leaving the company. Hippeau, a former PC Magazine publisher who has served as a member of HuffPo's board of directors since 2006, will remain with SoftBank as a "special" partner. Morgan also will step down from HuffPo's board of directors.
Former Variety writer Josef Adalian was named TV editor at Sharon Waxman's TheWrap.com. Most recently, Adalian served as editor of TVWEEK.com.
Fiorella Valdesolo was named editor of New York magazine's next edition of its twice-annual New York Weddings. Valdesolo previously served as deputy editor/beauty director at Nylon.
Denver magazine named Jeff Kass associate editor. A former Los Angeles Times reporter, Kass served as a reporter at the Rocky Mountain News from 1999 until its closure in February.
