Three men are to be tried in the alleged murder of former PC World senior technical editor Rex Farrance [pictured].

A Contra Costa County (California) judge ruled recently that there is enough evidence to try Darryl Hudson, Montrell Hall and Cleothius Amos in the murder, according to an Associated Press news report [1]. The men are accused of breaking into Farrance’s Pitsburg, California home in January and demanding money. Farrance, who was 59, died after being shot in the chest.

It has not been determined whether prosecutors will pursue the death penalty, the news report said.

Farrance is survived by his wife and their four adult children.
