Greenspun Media today announced that the April issue of Las Vegas Life will be its last. The magazine’s content will go online to become “the anchor of the Greenspun Media Group’s larger and long-term vision” for its lasvegaslife.com site, the company says.

As FOLIO: reported earlier this week, Greenspun is planning to launch a "category crushing" Web portal [0] for the Las Vegas market on Memorial Day weekend.

According to Greenspun president Michael T. Carr, going online-only is “the most engaging way to deliver content, applications and services that truly meet the needs of our audiences.” Las Vegas Life had completed an extensive redesign in January.

In addition to transitioning Las Vegas Life content online, Greenspun will publish an annual “Best of” issue, the company says.

Also as part of the announcement, Greenspun says it will increase the editorial coverage of its other regional titles, including: Vegas magazine, Las Vegas Home & Design and Las Vegas Weekly.

Carr says the yet-to-be-named portal, part of which is already active through Greenpun’s Las Vegas Sun newspaper, will be rolled out to other markets, beginning with New York, where Greenspun owns Niche Media titles Gotham and the Hamptons.
