New Xerox Lightweight Paper for Magazine Pages
Xerox Tuesday introduced a new coated paper is 25 percent lighter than standard coated paper for high volume digital printing. The paper eliminates the need to produce magazine pages, marketing brochures, catalogs and children’s books on offset presses, the company said in a statement. The company says its new paper is the industry’s lightest, delivering 20 percent more pages per inch than the next lightest digital coated paper on the market, Xerox said in a statement.
The technology will allow print publishers to save their customers money by printing only what they need and offering documents that have the same look and feel as those done on offset presses. “Xerox’s proprietary technology and coated paper portfolio has truly complemented the rise in short-run, digital color printing, resulting in a strong double-digit increase in Xerox coated paper sales year over year,” said Steve Simpson, vice president, Xerox Supplies Business Group, in a statment.
The paper features a 90 brightness and a blue-white shade – enabling rich, sharp, high-quality color images.
