Metered Paid Content Platform Press+ Expands Internationally

RR Donnelley’s Press+ announced its plans to expand internationally, and has hired London-based John Michael Hull as business development director to grow the client base in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
About 435 affiliates are currently using the platform, says the company, with about 10 percent of the publishers based outside of the U.S.
"We’re eager to extend the presence of Press+ full time in Europe to spread the word and share our data-and continue to demonstrate that with the Press+ meter, publishers can add reader revenue while keeping all of their online ad revenue," says Press+ co-CEO Gordon Crovitz in a statement. "As all of our affiliates have found, it is no longer a choice between one or the other."
Press+, which launched in 2009, was acquired by RR Donnelley in 2011. It allows publishers to offer a variety of paid and metered content plans along with mobile/tablet access, enhanced site functionality, and out-of-market-access.
