Martha Stewart Omnimedia’s Publishing Division to Gradually Shift Focus to Online (posted 1/24)
Martha Stewart Omnimedia’s five magazines will gradually shift their emphasis from print to online, while keeping in mind that, to some people, print is still important, the company’s founder said Wednesday.
“The youth of America and the youth of the world really are looking for that one device to communicate with, to read with, to do research with,” said Martha Stewart, during a lunch-time interview with Joanne Lipman, editor of Conde Nast’s soon-to-launch Portfolio magazine. “That said, there are still people who want a print product to hold, to carry, to read and hopefully those people will be around a little longer. But I think the longer we go, the more our audience is going to gravitate toward that (online) medium.”
